ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2026
7 TH August 2026 onwards

Avani Institute of Design hosted its Annual Exhibition on August 7, 2026, at the permanent Exhibition Space on its campus. It displayed students’ works from various semesters, predominantly execute during the academic year 2025-26. The exhibition was inaugurated at the hands of internationally acclaimed Architect Brinda Somaya. It was attended by distinguished guests and key leadership, including Bose Krishnamachari, Co-founder, Kochi Muziris Biennale; Murali Cheroth, former Chairperson of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi; Mr. Anand Mani K., State Govt. nominee on the Board of Governors of NIT Calicut; Mr. Sanil Sivadas, IRS (Retd); prominent architects from Kozhikode city, members of the Governing Council and Board of Trustees of Avaani; as well as Deans, the Head of Department, faculty members, Student Council representatives and students. The exhibition curatorial team formally welcomed the guests and introduced the overarching curatorial vision governing the display. Centred around core themes of agency, design, and the future, the exhibition highlighted student projects as a continuous dialogue between curiosity, context, and imagination. Rather than presenting design as a pursuit of certainty, the exhibition framed it as an enduring
practice of inquiry, participation, and care, reflecting the rich academic culture and creative explorations across the institute.
