Space As The Medium: 2026 Design Workshop

Led by Architect Peter Rich: AVANI | SEA Mumbai | WCFA Mysore

From March 2–14, 2026, students from AVANI, SEA Mumbai, and WCFA Mysore participated in an intensive studio led by renowned architect Peter Rich.
​The workshop challenged participants to design a contemporary house for Kerala’s high-humidity climate by synthesizing the "Space Architecture" of R.M. Schindler with Anant Raje’s vision of the house as a "village and a lungi." Through a rigorous process of research and spatial application, students translated Viennese and Californian design principles into a breathable, modern dwelling for the local landscape.
