The interaction between academia and professional practice is critical in evolving professionals with a wide and practical perspective. To develop a close understanding of the context and the design practice, Avani associates with some of the best practitioners from India and abroad, who provide expert guidance to the students as they progress through the rigorous program.
Avani is promoted by the Trust named Avani Institute of Design, headed by Architect Tony Joseph who serves as the Managing Trustee of the Trust, and Chairman of the Institute.

Avani’s permanent campus at Thamarasserry has workshops, studios, labs, a library, cafeteria, a construction yard, research and development facilities,IT services, a store, student outreach services, professional development services, student services led by a fulltime wellness coordinator, and campus maintenance and development services. Additionally, the Student Residential Facilities are under construction, which will enable Avani to be a 24X7 campus.

Avani will provide on-campus housing upon completion of our Student Residential Facilities that are under construction on our Thamaraserry campus. At present, we offer support for off-campus housing facilities near our campus in Thamarasserry. Please contact our Administrative office for further enquires.

The architecture course hasa minimum duration of 5 academic years or 10 semesters of approximately 18 working weeks each, inclusive of one year of practical training in a professional architect’s office.

Avani's Bachelor in Architecture program is structured in accordance with the B. Arch Course curriculum set forth by the University of Calicut.

You can take a transfer with permission from the DTE Kerala ( Directorate of Technical Education) , for which you have to submit a formal application.

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a national level examination for admission to undergraduate courses in Architecture. The test measures a candidate's drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability in relation to Architecture. All candidates must score a minimum of 40% (80 marks out of 200) on the NATA to be eligible for admission to B. Arch programs. No candidate, including Management and NRI quota shall be admitted to any architecture college unless he or she qualifies the test.
