Bijoy Ramachandran

Born in 1971, Bijoy Ramachandran is an architect and urban designer based in Bangalore. His firm, Hundredhands is an internationally recognized practice and has been featured in Architectural Design (UK) magazine's survey of contemporary Indian architecture ('Made in India', January 2008).

Other awards include an official selection for the Project South Exhibition and the Leone di Pietra at the Venice Biennale, 2006, and the Cityscape/Architectural Review Award in 2005. He has been a panelist at the annual all-India undergraduate thesis review, the Kurula Varkey Forum, at CEPT, Ahmedabad, in 2005. Bijoy has a Bachelors degree in Architecture from BMS College, Bangalore University (1994) and a Masters degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA, in Architecture & Urbanism (1998) +


Bose Krishnamachari

Bose Krishnamachari is an internationally acclaimed Indian painter and Artist-Curator based in Mumbai, India. His work comprises vivid abstract paintings, figurative drawings, sculpture, photography, multimedia installations and architecture. Since 1985 he lives and works in Mumbai.

Bose is the founder member and President of Kochi Biennale Foundation and Biennale Director of international exhibition of contemporary art, Kochi-Muziris Biennale. His paintings have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally. He also actively curates exhibitions and projects of fellow artists around India. +


Chitra Vishwanath

Chitra Vishwanath is the Principal architect & managing director of Biome Environmental Solutions, a Bangalore-based design firm focused on ecology, architecture and water. She is also the Founder of Chitra Vishwanath architects 1990-2008 which has designed and implemented hundreds of projects – residences, institutions and resorts, guided by ecological principles, integrating sound water, energy and land-use thinking into design.

She is one of the frontrunner in the field of ecological design, having developed various Indian contextual standards. Chitra is an advisor to Kilikili, an NGO that works with the city and parent groups to further the cause of inclusive play in public parks and spaces. She is also the Co-ordinator of In:ch – an Indo-Swiss sustainability education initiative +


Dean D'Cruz

Dean D'Cruz is actively involved both in his profession as well as in academics as a Visiting Faculty in the Goa College of Architecture since 1987. He has conducted numerous workshops and seminars on architecture, planning and the environment in over 20 cities across India as well as in the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Italy and Canada.

His works and articles have been published in leading magazines in India and abroad. Supported the Royal Art and Architecture Academy, Stockholm, Oxford Brookes University,UK and PRATT University New York for their architectural and planning programs in Goa. He is a Partner and Principal Architect in MOZAIC DESIGN COMBINE', a leading design firm based in Goa, involved in Urban Intervention, Architecture, Conservation, Product and Graphic Design. +


Jimmy Lim

Jimmy Lim is a Malaysian architect, trained at the University of New South Wales. He is renowned for his unconventional sustainable tropical architecture and has won many awards including the coveted Aga Khan Award. He is the past-President of the Malaysian Institute of Architects,..

Founder Member and First Vice President of the Heritage of Malaysia Trust, Past-President of Friends of Heritage, Founding Member and Executive Council Member WACA {World Association of Chinese Architects}, and Past Convenor of Arcasia {Architects' Regional Council of Asia} Fellowship. Jimmy has lectured extensively at various international universities and has presented numerous papers on architecture and conservation at seminars and conferences in Malaysia and internationally. +


Karan Grover

Architect Karan Grover is one of India’s most important voices in sustainable architecture and design. He completed his B. arch in 1974 from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and hisPostgraduate Diploma from Architectural Association, London in 1975. Ar. Karan is and a celebrated one based in Gujarat.

His designs are people centric and he supports the idea of interweaving the use of passive strategies and new technologies together. His works have won national as well as international recognition. A passionate conservationist, he successfullylead the campaign to grant World Heritage Site status for Champanerby UNESCO. +

Dr.Varkki Pallathucheril

Dr. Pallathucheril has a Bachelor of Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He has two graduate degrees-the Master of City and Regional Planning and a PhD in City and Regional Planning-from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Pallathucheril's research interest include Information systems for urban design and spatial analysis, urban design, planning, and problem-solving processes, internet-based planning support systems and contemporary urban design methods and learning technologies. +


NEELKANTH CHHAYA

Professor NeelkanthChhaya is one of India’s most important voices in Architecture Education and Practice. He has taught at University of Nairobi, the Institute of Environmental Design at VallabhVidyanagar, and was a faculty member at CEPT University for over twenty-five years, from where he retired as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture after 24 years of service.

His practice both as an Educator and as Architect reflect his core commitemtn to culturally and envioirmenatlly sensitive design that privileges local materials and skills. A much sought after advisor on both the teaching and practice of architecture, and he also serves on theBoards of Hunnarshala and Khamir Craft Resource Centre, both of which are involved in empowering traditional knowledge and sustainable practices. +
